Dear
ISHAM member, The
ISHAM Working Group on standardizing Aspergillus PCR has
published its second Newsletter, click here. The group is launching a
website www.eapcri.eu in November.
The
ISHAM Working Group on Black Yeasts will organize its next Workshop in
Ljubljana, Slovenia, 14-16 May, 2010. Information and registration form can be
found here. The program will cover the entire ecological spectrum of black
yeasts, including extremophily, hydrocarbon tolerance, and clinical aspects. A
selection of papers presented at this Workshop will be published as a special
issue in the journal ‘Mycological Research’.
The
pre-congress practical workshop on Malassezia, organized by the ISHAM
Malassezia Working Group, will take place 16-17 October in Athens, Greece. For

has been accredited with 14 CME points.
An
International PhD Program was recently created by the Institut Pasteur
in Paris, France. General information about the Program and its application
procedures can be found here.
The program targets students holding a Master degree (or equivalent) in
Science, Medicine or related fields from a non-French university.
The
Hans-Knoll-Institute in Jena, Germany, has two postdoc positions available for the study of single nucleotide mutations which play a role in
infection. Information can be found here.
The
tentative program of the ECMM-ISHAM Working group on Pseudallescheria /
Scedosporium Infections, 6-8 May, 2010 in Bonn, Germany, is available here. A special journal issue on the outcome of this workshop is planned.
The
program of the 9th International Mycological Congress (IMC9) in
Edinburgh, U.K., 1-6 August, 2010, entitled “The Biology of Fungi” is now
available here.
The program also contains medical sessions.
The
ECMM-ISHAM Working Group on Zygomycoses organizes its 2nd
Forum in Athens, Greece, 28-30 May, 2020. The program will be available soon;
for information, contact George Petrikos, petrikos@med.uoa.gr.

the next 50th ICAAC meeting in Boston, U.S.A., early November
2010, suggestions are still welcome, see information and form here. Further
announcements will follow.
An international course on molecular medical mycology will
be given November 22-29, in Bangkok, Thailand. Information can be found here
For
the next International CBS Course in Medical Mycology, to be held in
Utrecht, The Netherlands, 15-26 March, 2010, a limited number of places is
still available. The course is in English, but personal guidance is possible in
Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Farsi and Chinese.

member forum and all other correspondence for members. You will
also be entitled to vote at the ISHAM General Assembly.
In case
your circumstances make it difficult
to afford the subscription fee, a special fund (The Carolyn
Halden Fund) exists to provide member's subscriptions for one or two years.
