ISHAM NEWS! (04-02-2010)

Dear ISHAM member, For those of you that still had trouble with their free login to Medical Mycology from the ISHAM member area: there are now two working links, you may either use the link in the text or click on the picture of the journal cover.

A laboratory manual on Fungal Biodiversity has been published by the CBS. It is the book guiding the CBS course in general mycology, with a small section on medical mycology. This book is available at the CBS webshop. ISHAM members may order the book with 10% reduction. Please specify your ISHAM member number with your order.

A preliminary program of the Scedosporium workshop, organized by an ECMM-ISHAM Working Group on that theme in Bonn, Germany, 6-8 May, 2010, is now available here. The program is partly shared with a meeting by the Paul-Ehrlich-Gesellschaft (PEG). You are requested to register quickly for the workshop here, as well as for the social program.

The ISHAM workshop on black yeasts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, 14-16 May, 2010, has an impressive program. Much of the material presented is environmental, but this will certainly add to our understanding of virulence factors and clinical predilection. You are invited to register here.

The Second International Forum on Zygomycosis, organized by the ECMM-ISHAM Working Group on that theme, will take place in Porto Heli, Greece, 28-30 May, 2010. The program is very interesting, click here for more info. In the same file you will find information on venue and registration.

The ISHAM-affiliated Mycology Study Group (MSG) organizes its annual meeting in Philadelphia, U.S.A., 7-8 April, 2010. Information can be found here.  Please register by faxing the completed invitation to Joyce Kanute at
++-1-205-975-9901. The registration deadline is February 19th, 2010.

The 44st Scientific Meeting of the German-speaking Mycological Society (MYK) will take place in Vienna, Austria,
9-11, September 2010, jointly with the Austrian Society for Medical Mycology, see here. We will let you know when a preliminary program is available.

The 46st Congress of the Brazilian Society for Tropical Medicine (MEDTROP) will be organized 14-18 March, 2010 at Foz do Iguacu, Brasil, with some important mycological sections. For info check the website here.
