A European summer course on fungal biology will be organized in Szeged, Hungary, 5-9 July, 2010. Information on program and registration can be found here.

The international workshop on clinical and environmental aspects of Scedosporium (Invitation) (Program) in Bonn, Germany, 6-8 May is approaching. The program will be highly interesting; a selection of presentations will be published in a special issue of "Mycoses". Deadline for Abstract submission is 20 April; abstracts will be published in full in the Chemotherapy Journal of the Paul Ehrlich Gesellschaft. Participation in the workshop is free of charge, except for the social evening at 7 May (€ 30). We can still accept some registrations, please register quickly here.

An initiative has been taken to start a Working Group on Veterinary Mycology under the auspices of ISHAM. This area covers very different practical and fundamental areas, such as development of vaccines in agriculture, mycoses in poultry, companion and wild animals, equines and other farm animals, mycotoxins, and research on fish and amphibian epidemics. Those who are interested to organize international networks for mutual support and exchange are requested to contact Seyed Mojtaba Seyed Mousavi Tasieh, mosavim@yahoo.com. Suggestions on priority topics are welcome.

The international CBS Course Medical Mycology was held successfully in Utrecht. Participants came from 4 different continents. For a short report and some pictures, see here. The next course is scheduled 7-18 March, 2011.

Deadlines for the 9th International Mycological Congress (IMC9) with the theme “The Biology of Fungi” are closing soon, you are recommended to register quickly. For general information, click here. Note also the option of bursary applications here.

The Belgian Society for Human and Animal Mycology will be organize a meeting in Brussels, Belgium, 29 May 2010. The program will be devoted to mycoses diagnosed by local physicians (dermatophytes, yeasts, invasive infections, allergy).

The 10th International Conference on Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics of Infectious Diseases will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 3-5 November, 2010. Full information is available here.

The Mycology Study Group (MSG ) educational committee organizes a meeting entitled “Innovations in Diagnosis and Management of Invasive Mycoses” in Philadelphia, 7 April 2010. Contact address is provided here.

Prakash visited the “4th Advances Against Aspergillosis (AAA2010)” http://www.aaa2010.org/ and represented Young ISHAM there. See some pictures here.
