The ISHAM News Team wishes you a splendid and very successful new year! Also in 2011 we will keep you informed about developments in medical mycology, and also invite you to inform us about your activities so that we can help you with free publicity. ISHAM News reaches the most active part of the medical mycological community. Preparations are already made for theISHAM congress Berlin next year, which is likely to become one of the biggest events in medical mycological history. ISHAM membership will give you several advantages, so stay tuned and be sure to remain part of our society!
The 11th International Congress on Paracoccidioidomycosis will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 1 – 4 May, 2011. Information can be found
here. A new species of Paracoccidioides, P. lutzii will soon be introduced. The organizers of the ISHAM Working Group Paracoccidioidomycosis invite clinicians to collect specimens from PCM patients, which will then be screened molecularly. The 12th Argentinian Congress of Mycology, XXII Jornadas Argentinas de Micología, will be organized in Posadas, Argentina, 15 – 17 June, 2011, with numerous sessions on medical mycology. For info and program, click here.

The first BIT Annual World Congress of Microbes will be organized in Beijing, China, 30 July – 1 August, 2011. This is a new series of clustered congresses on all major groups of microbes including fungi. There is also a section on fungal disease and management. For information, see here.
