A workshop entitled 'New and Emerging Fungal Diseases of Animals and Plants : evolutionary aspects in the context of global changes' will be held in Roscoff, France, 25-29 June, 2011. Information can be found here.

European Guidelines for the Treatment of Candidiasis are presently being made by the ESCMID Fungal Study Group (here) and will be presented at the ESCMID Congress here in Milano, Italy, 7-12 May, 2011.

A PhD studentship is available for 3 years to work in the laboratory of Dr Julian Naglik on Host-Candida interactions "Epithelial innate immunity against fungal pathogens at mucosal surfaces" to commence Sept/Oct 2011. The preliminary program of the ISHAM Congress in Berlin, Germany, 11-15 June, 2012 is now available, click here. This congress promises to become a major event, perhaps even the largest ever in medical mycology - a must for every ISHAM member. A significant role is scheduled for the ISHAM working groups. Young ISHAM members are particularly stimulated to participate; support options will be announced soon.
