Dear ISHAM member, We installed a new educational tool on our homepage: Case
of the Month. Striking cases will regularly be displayed with full
illustration and explanation for ISHAM members on the Forum. If you have
any extraordinary case, please contact de.hoog@cbs.knaw.nl.
Unpublished, difficult-to-diagnose cases may also be presented to members for
advice.

We may also ask your attention for the web-area on Guidelines and Reviews, where interesting papers are added regularly.
The ISHAM Working Group on Molecular diagnostics has been
quite successful with a publication
that received a special

The
ECMM-ISHAM Working Group on Zygomycetes had a symposium and meeting in
Tokyo; a report of the meeting can be found here.
The
next international CBS Course Medical Mycology will be held at Utrecht,

The
ECMM-ISHAM Working Group on Pseudallescheria Scedosporium Infections organizes its next Workshop in Bonn, Germany, 6-8 May 2010. The workshop is
directly linked with a meeting of the Working Group Antifungal Chemotherapy of the Paul Ehrlich
Gesellschaft (PEG). The preliminary program can be found here.
The next Asian Mycological Congress, with some
sessions on medical mycology, will be organized in Taichung, Taiwan,
15-19 November, 2009. For information and program, check the website here.
We are happy to announce that the impact factor of
our ISHAM journal Medical Mycology has increased to 2.156. Info on the journal
with instructions for authors can be found at here.
ISHAM members have free access to all issues of the journal (starting with
volume 1 from 1962) via the member area.
The Austrian Society for Medical Mycology will
organize her first international meeting in Vienna, Austria, 4-5 December,
2009, jointly with the Austrian Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.

A CNRS Conference Jacques Monod entitled ‘New and
Emerging Fungal Diseases of Animals and Plants: evolutionary aspects in the
context of global changes’ will be organized at Roscoff in Brittany, France,
17-21 April, 2010. Information will soon be available and announced in a
forthcoming ISHAM News.

Your
application will be processed as rapidly as possible. On admission to
membership you will be required to pay your first year's subscription fee
(currently $50.00 US). You will then receive the current year's issues of Medical Mycology,
regular e-mailed ISHAM
news alerts and ISHAM-SOS service, have access to the ISHAM
member forum and all other correspondence for members. You will
also be entitled to vote at the ISHAM General Assembly.
In case
your circumstances make it difficult
to afford the subscription fee, a special fund (The Carolyn
Halden Fund) exists to provide member's subscriptions for one or two years.
Please explain your situation to the General Secretary.
