 For a second year, the Impact Factor (IF) for our ISHAM journal Medical Mycology has increased. The journal’s IF for 2011 is 2.457. Medical Mycology remains the leading journal in the Thomson-Reuter’s group that concentrates on pathogenic and environmental fungi with impact on human and animal health. The journal also covers methods for their isolation, identification, and taxonomy, and the treatment of fungal infections. |
 The 3rd European Conference for the Barcoding of Life (ECBOL3) will be held from 17 – 20 September 2012 in Brussels, Belgium. There will be a session focused on barcoding of Fungi; information can be found

| At the ISHAM congress in Berlin a new Working Group on Clinical Fusarium under the umbrella of both ISHAM and the ECMM (European Confereration of Medical Mycology) held its kick-off meeting. The general aim of the working group will be to study Fusarium infections both from the side of the infected host as well as from the pathogen side, to exchange knowledge and strains, and to provide tools for rapid identification and treatment. Anyone with an interest in human and/or veterinary Fusarium species is very welcome to join this group. Contact Anne van Diepeningen. |
 Recently the Open Mycology Journal has started and you are invited to submit papers. It is an Open Access online journal which publishes research articles, reviews and letters in all areas of experimental and applied mycology including themes of medical significance.
