The Brazilian Network on Chromoblastomycosis (see here) aims to involve the many researchers and clinicians working on this disease in Brazil. It is coordinated by Daniel Wagner. Similar activities are organized by the ISHAM Working Group Chromoblastomycosis, for which we welcome the new coordinators Xi Liyan and Peiying Feng, who will join Roxana Vitale. We thank Flavio Queiroz Telles for his contributions over the years.
Discussions are taking place about the correct nomenclature of clinically relevant fungi. On the website of the International Commission on Aspergillus and Penicillium you will find a discussion on this subject and extended lists of currently used names.

The 5th Congress of European Microbiologists, organized by FEMS, will take place in Leipzig, Germany, July 21-25, 2013. This large congress also contains sections of medical interest. This is the website.

A book on Cladosporium taxonomy has been published and is freely available on the web, click here.

The FEBS advanced practical course “State-of-the-art infection models for human pathogenic fungi” will be organised in Jena, Germany, February 17 - March 2, 2013. Information is available here. The course is limited to 20 participants.
A supplement to Clinical Infectious Disease has been devoted to infections by Mucorales, entitled “Advances against Mucormycosis: a tribute to the memory and courage of Hank Schueler”. The issue is freely available on the web, click here.

The Belgian Society for Mycology organises, in cooperation with the Belgian Society for Infectiology and Clinical Microbiology, a meeting entitled "Invasive mycoses in non-haematological patients". The meeting will take place in La Hulpe-Dolce on 8 Nov., 2012. Information can be found here.
