2012 has been a tremendously
successful year, with the congress in Berlin, and several workshop meetings
under the umbrella of ISHAM. Our society now has more than 1000 members and has
proven to be instrumental in coordinating and stimulating research in many
different areas. The launch of the journal Medical Mycology Case Reports adds
to the profile of the society. Stay with us in 2013! |
A new, open access journal 'Research in Molecular
Medicine' has been launched by the Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences.

The fifth FEBS Advanced Lecture Course Human Fungal
Pathogens: Molecular Mechanisms of Host-Pathogen Interactions and Virulence will be organized in La Colle sur Loup, France, May 25-31, 2013. Full

The Congresses of the International Union of
Microbiological Societies will take place from July 27th to August 1st, 2014 at
the Palais des congrès de Montréal (Montréal’s Convention Centre). The three
congresses will be held simultaneously within one week, one of which is the

The 5th Congress of Asia Pacific Society for Medical
Mycology (2013 APSMM) will take place in Chengdu, China, June 19-23, 2013.

CBS Fungal Biodiversity Calendar: Battle of the
pixels.
CBS is initiating
a new (12 month) calendar series, which will focus on the beauty of fungal
biodiversity.
The first
calendar is scheduled for 2014, and will subsequently appear annually. To this
end we invite all those making photographs or micrographs to submit their most
beautiful fungal illustrations. Show us your fungi! More info here. |
Two PhD positions are
available in Jena, Germany. One project will be part of the research project “Molecular Mechanisms of Candida Sepsis” within the Center for Sepsis Control
and Care (CSCC) and the Hans Knöll Institute (HKI). The second project “The
role of filamentation in the pathogenesis of candidiasis” will be funded by the
