The benefits of being a member of ISHAM have never been so attractive. Our new journal Medical Mycology Case Reports, under the editorship of Oliver Kurzai is doing very well. The time from receipt to publication time of the papers published in 2012 was less than 2 weeks – an astonishingly quick turn-around that should encourage anyone with a goof case report to get it published in the best journal in the field. Medical Mycology is also doing very well. The organisation of ISHAM 2015 / Melbourne is underway and we can assure you that this will be a landmark event. Young ISHAM (YISHAM) have brought a vibrant community of younger scientists into the body of the society to swell our membership to over one thousand, and they are already helping the organising committee for Melbourne to bring some exciting YISHAM–led activities to ISHAM 2015. Many of our Working Groups are actively organising workshops, symposia etc and we are providing financial support to many international venues in our discipline. Our web site grows in strength and there are many on-line facilities and utilities for our members to enjoy there. For all these reasons and more we trust that you will stay with us, renew your memberships and encourage your colleagues to join us under the ISHAM umbrella. From 1 January 2013, there will be a new fee structure in place for Medical Mycology Case Reports – an Open Access journal. Article processing fees will be $ 450 plus taxes per article. All case reports will be peer reviewed and the authors notified as to the final decision of its publication. If accepted in the Journal, authors will be requested to pay the article processing fee. Following payment of this fee, case reports will be made universally available (open access) at no further charge through ScienceDirect. If your article was submitted before 31 December 2012, all article processing fees will be waived.

The 53rd Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) will take place in Denver, U.S.A., 10-13 September, 2013. Full information can be found on the website here.
