The Turkish Society for Medical Mycology organizes its first national congress of medical mycology in Ankara, Turkey, 24-26 September, 2014. A pre-congress course on hyaline molds, aspergillosis and hyalohyphomycosis will be organized. For information, contact Emel Tumbay.

The next ISHAM Congress is to be held from the 4-8 May 2015 in Melbourne, Australia. This meeting has 4 major themes:

  • Clinical Aspects of Medical Mycology - chaired by Monica Slavin and Deborah Marriott
  • Basic Science Aspects of Medical Mycology - chaired by Wieland Meyer and James Fraser
  • Translational Aspects of Medical Mycology – Antifungals, TDM, Diagnostics - chaired by Sharon Chen and William Hope
  • One Health - chaired by Mark Krockenberger and Tania Sorrell

You are now invited to submit for symposia topics, which will be reviewed by the Scientific Advisory Board of ISHAM 2015. Each symposium will be 1.5 hrs long and consist of 3 invited speakers, and 2 preferred speakers, which will be selected at a later stage form the submitted abstracts. Your symposia suggestion(s) need to be accompanied by the title of the symposium, one potential chair (including name, institution, mail, phone and e-mail contact), a maximum of 200 word description of the symposium and suggestions for 3 possible invited speakers (including name, institution, mail, phone and e-mail contact). For a study on global epidemiology of Trichophyton violaceum and Microsporum canis, the CBS in Utrecht, The Netherlands, requests for strains from less-accessible areas of the world. Isolates with detailed background information are welcome and will be sequenced free of charge.
