Overview
The objective of the working group is to develop a standard for Aspergillus PCR methodology and to validate this in clinical trials so that PCR could be incorporated into future consensus definitions for diagnosing invasive fungal diseases.
Achievements
The working group :-
- is involved in the PCR update of the EORTC/MSG consensus definitions.
- is investigating a standard for Aspergillus PCR for BAL fluid.
- will be evaluating the utility of Aspergillus PCR for the EORTC strategy study 65091-0693 and the AMBIGUARD study
